Does anybody have the details about this snare? I think it's a custom snare similar to a Black Beauty with die cast rims.
Anyone have personal experience with this snare?

Hey Derek,
No, the model is actually called Hit Maker, and it's not Gretsch. Some custom job. I think Curt Bisquera has one too...like a Black Beauty clone with die cast. Actually, I think the Gretsch COB snare would sound pretty similar.

Your probably thinking of a Black Dogg snare. Lee Smith of Drum Paradise, who is one of Vinnie's techs, builds them. They are a repop of a Black Beauty. I have one myself. Basically it has a beaded shell made of black anodized brass with die-cast hoops. It is a very versatile snare.
